RESULTS FUNDRAISER: RESULTS is a nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and
poverty. They have sent an invitation inviting all of you to their
fundraising dinner, Thurs, Nov 10 from 6:30-9:00. The event, to take place
at the Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center, 1300 Lavaca Street, will include
dinner and a presentation by Frances Moore Lappé, author of Diet for a Small
Planet, and her daughter Anna Lappé. It is hoped, but not required, that
attendees will contribute at least $100. It is an excellent opportunity to
learn more about RESULTS' efforts and activities. You can reply to this

Austin's very first Interdisciplinary Ethics Day will be
this Wednesday, August 24. This special day is an opportunity to network
with other professionals across the fields of business, law, medicine, and
social work; learn about the ethical decision making process and how to
apply it to your everyday life; learn to collaborate in interdisciplinary
teams to tactfully handle ethical issues; get tips for cautious approaches
to ethical and legal dilemmas; and view different scenarios from the
perspectives of other professions. CME credits are available. The
conference will be at The Crossings from noon to 4:00 pm and includes a
gourmet lunch overlooking Lake Travis, engaging breakout sessions led by
experts in each profession, discounted spa services, and an afternoon away
